Explanations & Codes

EXPLANATIONS

Ancestral tables, genealogies and the Wenzel Databank have been produced with the genealogy program PRO-GEN. They consist of two parts:
At the left side the "Name Index" with an extra entry per character. Per surname or patronym the christian names of the various people are listed, together with birthyear and year of decease, as far as they are known. At the right side you see the items of people and their relations. These can be accessed by clicking the relevant individual. You can follow a chain by clicking the hyperlinks.

The various genealogic events are represented by symbols. You can find these symbols in the table below.

The places belonging to these events, are followed by a country- and sometimes by a regioncode. The explanations of these you can also find in the tables below. Some researchers resist the use of these codes in publications, but the ease of use more than counterbalances their argumentation. Try to find a town that occurs 40 times in the Atlas of Germany and former territories, without using this code.

In the reports, privacy-protection level 2 has been applied. This means that no events are shown for individuals that are born or have been baptised after 1905 and/or married after 1930, except when the died. However, in many cases I have these events.

The reports of the dutch families are in dutch, of german families in german and the Wenzel Databank is in english.

I hope that the reports are self-explaining for the rest, but when you have a question, don't hesitate to contact me. The same applies, when you want to have detailed information that is not part of the report.
